This section is in a stage of active development and experimentation. Currently, it’s a mess but we dont want great to be the enemy of the good so, with all humilty, and in the spirit of Kaizen, we are putting this up half baked and improving it incrementally.
There are several excellent sites that track the literature and offer summaries and interpretation. Several of note include:
- The VLOG of Dr Rishi Desai at Osmosis. Available at www.osmosis.org or on youtube. You could not possibley be more prepared for this pandemic than Dr Rishi, and he has given a heroes effort at educating and motivating the public and clinicians including live vlogging his families quarantined battle with COVID-19.
- Dr Elie Kassouf and his team’s site: www.howitreatcovid.com . Dr Kassouf, a hematologist and oncologist is an unlikely champion for a viral pandemic, but he has formidable skills as a scientist, team builder, communicator, and educator. Recognizing the all hands on board nature of this generation defining illness, he has pivoted his educational efforts and built up a new, but rapidly expanding platform for medical education on COVID-19.
- Canadian Medical Students against COVID-19 is a pan canadian effort run by medical students, many of whom have had to put their schooling on hold due to COVID-19, but who want to make a contribution. They are supported and supervised by academic staff. This service consists of a daily email updating aspects of the medical literature. The archive of their newsletters and a sign up link can be found here.

COVID related research advances rapidly. Multiple sites disseminate this research including Online “textbooks); UpToDate Dynamed, Professional Societies: ACP , ASID , and Public entities: INESSS , NIH , WHO , NHS.
Very few individuals have the skills, knowledge and time to navigate the full body of evidence, yet all physicians who are involved with COVID related dialogues must access the literature. Memory is a faulty steward for this task. In an era of so much “false” information, it is imperative that we stick to the verifiable “facts” when possible. It is understood that the facts will change over time.
On this spirit, a small body of articles will be referenced here listed as a series of cards. Clicking on a card will allow you to access key elements of each study.
